Ryea: What type of camera do you use in capturing those awesome photos?

Just Canon EOS450D. I'm only a beginner, so I don't think that I need a lot of equipment that I cant even fully use. So I just slowly learning the basics of photography and hope, someday I will be good enough to be called "pro".


Ryea: What inspires you to start photography?

My love for cosplay. I was cosplayer for many years, but each time when I was looking in photos I got feeling that something isn't right, that I see only costume on photo, but there are no special meaning, I don't feel anything looking on that. So I've decided to try bring that feeling to life through my own lens.


Ryea: What makes you to continue in photography with passion?

Its so naturally for me, that I even didn't think about that. How to say... Sometimes, of course when I am very depressed I got thoughts like "You need to stop that, you just can't do something nice", but than shiny days come, and I don't give a damn, ahaha.


Ryea: Which is your most satisfied/favorite shot so far?

Each time have something nice inside. Its like small epic stories. Most remarkable for me is Hetalia shoot, on the field covered with snow, but it's more about working in group, that about result. Now I am in love with night shoot that we made at Chengdu with Vocaloid-Durarara!!! crossover.


Ryea: Which photo you've taken is the most challenging to you?

I like to take photos in the dark. So, when I try to do that, each time it's a challenge. You need to do it in a place without any lights, you must made it nice-looking, and finally find your model in the dark room! Of course its not that simple...


Ryea: What aspect do you think that you have improved a lot since you started photography?

I don't know. My weak point is Technic. I dot many crazy ideas, but technically I am not that good, so I am trying to work on that part. I can tell that I become better, but still long way to go.


Ryea: What's your goal achievement in photography?

To be a pro. To tell the truth, my biggest dream is start taking fashion-photos, but I am far from that.


Ryea: Who do you look up to or inspires you?

Basically people who I met. I look on their faces and all I want is too capture that beauty. For me everyone is pretty. I think there are nothing more inspiring for portrait photographer, that people themselves.


Ryea: Any advise to those are new starter or interested in photography?

I think you need to practice more and more. As Chinese people says "Failure is mother of success". So, even if today you made something bad, you need to try tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and the next day... and you will succeed for sure. Just believe in that. I saw a lot of people who got a very expensive equipment but cant do nothing with that. Just a plain photos... I think your own style is much more expensive than any lens. You can buy things, but can't buy talent.


** Itismoi : What do you think sets apart cosplay photography from the other portrait photography?

Cosplay is much more about pretty faces, I think. Only beautiful cosplayers usually considered as good one, people says that they "looks like characters" but I can call that "in our dreams we see anime characters as pretty person". Personally I prefer more artistic photos, that can describe much more about character, not only his clothes and face.

Kuroshitsuji: Drocell Cainz

A character who only appeared in the anime adaptation, Drocell Cainz used the Hope Diamond in order to kidnap chosen girls and turn them into dolls. He lured Elizabeth Middleford, Ciel's cousin and fiance, with the lullaby "London Bridge" from his music box. Drocell claims to be human but later had "white stuff" falling from his ear suggesting that he too was a mere puppet controlled his master, who is still unknown at this point.

Sexy Cosplay Of The Week: Sermemole

Here we are with another week, another Friday and we all know what that means here at the Nerdbastards HQ. It’s time for another (a)rousing edition of ‘Sexy Cosplay of the Week’, where nerds around the world get together and stare at the pretty woman on the screen. Every week thousands of yards in material gets purchased and turned into costumes most normal people would shield their children from. As for the rest us, we just call it another weekend of badges, panels and cosplay. So let’s all sit back, relax and enjoy this week’s cosplay beauty.

This week we speak the name of: Sermemole

This week we stretch our frequent flyer miles and touch down into the country of Italy to meet with Sermemole. A country Steep in history and beauty, fitting this Italian’s hotness to a tee. A graduate of the Art Institute of Monza, she has since become an advertising designer and sales accountant. Sermemole hates hypocrisy, unnecessary debates, evil, the lack of qualities, the ones who are always in bad mood. So if you are a person that doesn’t keep their word and is an overall scumbag you might as well not even try getting to know her. When she isn’t rocking a convention Sermemole continues to enjoy drawing and martial arts. A practitioner of Muai Tai kickboxing since she was 17, she has since been a part of Italy’s Kombat 2000 team. Brawn and beauty all rolled into one tight ass-kicking package.

Sermemole has been cosplaying since 2006, heavily favoring Jem of the eighties Jem and The Holograms and Nina Williams from Tekken. Averaging 5 costumes a year she has built up quite a resume of characters from all realms of anime, comic books and video games. Between all the fabric and hand sewn material this gift of Italy also does modeling, away from all the glitz and glamor of the cosplay scene. Very tight and intricate designs with hours of work just for one costume, Sermemole researches everything before she designs. Even reaching into hentai manga to get her final design, minus all the tentacles and splooge. While there hasn’t been anything updated along the lines of new costumes since the start of 2011 it’s still early, there could be something big on the way.

If you happen to be flying international anytime soon be sure to stop in Monza, Italy and check out an Italian convention featuring Sermemole. Can’t make it over to the Italian Republic anytime soon you can always check out Sermemole’s personal page and maybe sign her guest book. Even if you can’t understand the language you can always enjoy sexy. Told she’s always full of life and energy, it may be from too much Red bull but it’s highly contested. Always full of ides and proposals, all I can say is “I’m all yours”.

So go outside and travel around town, then go and spend the rest of the weekend watching a marathon of Firefly and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Naruto: Hatake Kakashi 02

Hatake Kakashi is known as the Copy Ninja Kakashi due to his ability to mimic any jutsu. This ability was given to him by Uchiha Obito, allowing him to develop thousands of attacks.

So what if he uses Uzumaki Naruto's Sexy no Jutsu?

Without a doubt, Kakashi would make a very sexy female ninja. But I would rather not post something in Sanriotown that might lead to my being banned from the site. I know nothing is actually revealed in this cosplay, but Naruto fans know that Sexy no Jutsu makes the user... nearly, completely naked?

Final Fantasy XIII: Éclair Farron aka Lightning 02

A former Guardian Corps soldier, Lightning wields a gunblade called the Blazefire Saber, which is also known as the Blaze Edge in Japanese. It is a combination of a gun and a sword, one collapsing into the other. Lightning is known to be very agile, and uses acrobatic moves in battle.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII: Noctis Lucis Caelum 02

A character whose personality is almost impossible to define, Noctis Lucis Caelum, or “Noct”, hides his shyness around Stella Nox Fleuret by acting “cool” when they first met. Unfortunately for him, however, this gave Stella a cold and unsociable first impression. He does, however, smile and becomes more open to those he is close with.

The effect of this is so nice! The photographer did a very good job of catching this shot at the right moment. Perfect pose from the cosplayer too! Thanks to Feret for sharing this!

Final Fantasy X-2: Rikku 08

The prominently featured Theif and one of the main protagonists of Final Fantasy X-2, 17-year-old Rikku showed Yuna a mysterious sphere featuring a familiar person. This convinced Yuna to leave Besaid on a journey, with Rikku following close behind her.

People might say her hair is all wrong since she's not blond, but she still makes a pretty Rikku! Thanks to Benjamin for sending this in!
